  Children

Children speak a different language than adults. Their understanding and experience of things is often not what parents and grown ups imagine. They can have pockets of resilience and  sensitivity at the same time. When children are under stress and acting out, they need extra support and a place to go with their feelings; a safe place where there is acceptance, flexibility and privacy. This environment helps a child build resources of their own and in time gives them a sense of mastery over themselves.

When working with children, I see the caregiver(s) at least once a month as well to keep continuity and to ensure that caregivers are able to support the child at home.
