CONSCIOUS RELATING

When there is discord in a relationship, it is not always a sign of “trouble.” Tension is a signal that old behaviors are not working and that growth is waiting to happen. When couples face and walk through their difficulties together, in each other’s presence, tension can be transformed into closeness, trust and intimacy.

I help couples learn how  to recognize that when triggered their responses to stress and to each other in the relationship are born of old woundings. While discovering this, couples learn to be more conscious in the relationship. Through a series of guided exercises, couples are able to see their difficulties more clearly and objectively. Dialogues are designed to create safety and structure in which couples can discover sources of great healing for themselves and their partner. Change in behavior occurs when partners learn to provide a corrective experience that helps to begin to heal their partners wounding. And this is just the beginning.

I guide couples in doing the work of healing together in the presence of each other thereby connecting partners to their compassion for one another in light of their own and their partners wounding.

Separation and divorce are painful. Think about therapy before calling it quits.
